What Is Drain Lining?
Drain lining is a no-dig repair method used to fix cracked, fractured or leaking pipework from the inside. Instead of excavating and replacing the pipe, a resin-saturated liner is inserted into the damaged section and cured in place, creating a new structural pipe within the existing one.
At Downham Drainage, we provide professional drain lining services across West Norfolk and beyond, delivering long-term repairs with minimal disruption.
When Is Drain Lining Needed?
Drain lining is suitable for:
-
Cracked or fractured pipes
-
Minor collapses
-
Root ingress damage
-
Joint displacement
-
Leaking joints
-
Corroded pipework
It is often recommended following a CCTV drain survey, where internal pipe damage is identified. If you have any more questions or queries, check out our blog on drain lining here.
Our Drain Lining Process

CCTV Inspection
We carry out a detailed survey to assess the condition of the pipe and confirm suitability for lining.

Pipe Cleaning
High-pressure jetting removes debris, scale and roots to prepare the pipe.

Resin Liner Installation
A flexible liner saturated with specialist resin is inserted into the damaged section.

Curing & Testing
The liner is inflated and cured in place, forming a strong, seamless pipe. Final CCTV checks confirm structural integrity.

Patch Lining vs Full Length Lining
Patch Lining
Used for isolated damage. A localised repair that targets a specific cracked section.
Full Length Lining
Used where longer runs of pipe require structural reinforcement.
We assess the most cost-effective and structurally sound option for your system.
